I like Politico. I get their daily mash-up as an email. There was an interesting interview on NPR last night by Terry Gross of the Dan Diamond of Politico who broke the story about Tom Price taking private G5s instead of flying commercial and the literally 1,000 hours of work it took to break the story.

Trump thinks he’s above the law. Time will tell. What I am interested to see is, if his ship sinks, how many go down with him, how many will be shunned after the fact.

I worked in law enforcement for a time. This is a correct view. They are a necessary thing that should be supervised very, very closely. There were some really good folks there, and some really bad folks there, but most people fell somewhere in the middle. If you took away the badge and uniform and had to place them a good guys or bad guys, you could probably make as good an argument for either side. At the end of the day, they want to go home safe and get paid to do a shitty job, and complicity with a tremendous amount group think is usually required to succeed in the field.

Would I trust the average cop with my wallet, my (theoretical) daughter or my dog? Not any further than I could physically pick them up an throw them.

my favorite bit was that they thought the transition team emails would be private, and members being interviewed for months without knowing.

I bet they have great poker faces.
